Scope of the conference

  1. ICE is a technical/scientific conference addressing scientific and technical aspects of electrolysis for the production of fuels and chemicals.
  2. All electrolyzer technologies meeting the criteria of 1. are welcome, including less common and new ones.
  3. Typical topics include:
    • Cell components (electrolytes, electrodes, catalysts and PTL’s)
    • Electrochemical characterization
    • Mass, heat and electron transport phenomena
    • Durability and accelerated stress testing strategies
    • Stack architecture and components (bipolar plates, sealings, endplates. etc.)
    • Balance of stack components. Architecture, operating strategies, and system integration
    • Integration of electrolyzers with other processes when this has an impact on the electrolyzer
    • Electrolyzer decommissioning and materials recycling
    • Modelling and simulations of all the above
  4. Experimental studies, demonstrations and simulation work can be presented.
  5. Topics which are not covered by this conference are:
    • Economical studies and business case development
    • Deployment of hydrogen as energy vector
    • Energy planning
    • Sustainability assessments
    • Public acceptance
